Named after Argus Panoptes, the hundred-eyed giant of Greek myth — Hera's watchman, who could never be entirely fooled because some of his eyes were always open.

Argus is planned as the perception/detection layer: AI-generated text detection and plagiarism scanning against a submitted manuscript. The structure is drafted; the build is waiting on affordable, reliable detection backends — the current generation of detectors produces too many false positives to be useful at institutional scale. When that changes, the hundred eyes will open.
